New website on equine worming
Pfizer Animal Health launches new resource

A new website to provide horse owners with guidance on worm control has been launched by Pfizer Animal Health. The website may be found here.

Drawing on Pfizer's highly-regarded “Manage, Test, Plan, Dose” campaign, the website provides text, charts and diagrams to inform horse owners on the importance of managing worms on pasture land, the importance of Faecal Worm Egg Counts (FWECs), the role of management and history in worm control programmes and the best choice of wormer for a particular point of the year.

Commenting, Pfizer's Equine Brand Manager Paul Blanc said "In developing our new website we have listened carefully to what horse owners really want and need to know. The result is a source of plain-speaking, unbiased facts and advice, providing horse owners with the most current thinking on sustainable worm control in a format they can really identify with."

A PDF leaflet on 'Worm Control for your Horse”, also provided on the website, is available for download here.

BSAVA publishes Guide to Nutrition in Small Animal Practice

The BSAVA has added a small animal nutrition advice booklet to its series of BSAVA guides.

The BSAVA Guide to Nutrition in Small Animal Practice offers a resource for veterinary professionals to provide appropriate nutrition for animals. As well as maintaining the wellbeing of healthy pets, the guide explores how nutritional requirements change in times of illness and disease.

The guide is divided into five sections, which explore the importance of nutritional assessment; diet types; feeding at different life stages; feeding for specific situations; and feeding for specific diseases. Online resources are also in the BSAVA Library including client handouts and videos.

It is designed to be suitable for referencing, in-depth case planning and team training sessions.

The BSAVA Guide to Nutrition in Small Animal Practice can be purchased online from the BSAVA store.
