AWF seeks trustees to guide future of charity
The AWF is keen to hear from veterinary professionals with a background in charity governance.
A veterinary charity is calling for new trustees to help shape its three-year strategy.
The Animal Welfare Foundation (AWF) — the charitable arm of the BVA — is searching for new board members following a restructure of its operations.
The charity is particularly interested in hearing from veterinary and welfare professionals with a background in charity governance, as well as a treasurer with strong financial skills and experience.
Vacancies are also available on its Education Committee, which organises educational initiatives, including the annual Discussion Forum, and on its Grant Committee, which assesses and funds welfare research projects.
AWF Chair of Trustees Julian Kupfer said: “This is an exciting time to volunteer at AWF with its new strategy and an even closer working relationship with BVA than ever. We’re looking for people with the time and expertise to help govern and direct the charity and play a key role in its education and research work.
“We have recently restructured how we operate, so as well as looking for new Trustees, we are opening our committees to enable more veterinary and welfare professionals to get meaningfully involved.”
BVA President Rob Williams added: “This is a brilliant opportunity to get involved with our charity which works hard to share knowledge and evidence, and champion the welfare of animals. If you have the skills and expertise to share, we want to hear from you so you can help AWF make a difference.”
