Virtual Big Dog Walk 2020 details announced
The Big Dog Walk takes place virtually across September.

Money raised will go towards charities that support dogs in need.

Dog walkers from across the globe are being encouraged to get involved with the Big Dog Walk 2020 and raise much-needed funds for canine-related charities.

This year the event takes place virtually across September, with dog walkers getting out and about in their own communities and completing their walks independently.

The event is free to join and all money raised will go towards charities that support dogs in need, including Mayhew, Pets as Therapy and Streetvet.
With support from the likes of Gemma Atkinson and Michaela Strachan, organisers aim to cover a total distance of 40,075- the circumference of the earth.

For more information about the event, and to pledge a distance, visit the World Big Dog Walk website.

BSAVA publishes Guide to Nutrition in Small Animal Practice

The BSAVA has added a small animal nutrition advice booklet to its series of BSAVA guides.

The BSAVA Guide to Nutrition in Small Animal Practice offers a resource for veterinary professionals to provide appropriate nutrition for animals. As well as maintaining the wellbeing of healthy pets, the guide explores how nutritional requirements change in times of illness and disease.

The guide is divided into five sections, which explore the importance of nutritional assessment; diet types; feeding at different life stages; feeding for specific situations; and feeding for specific diseases. Online resources are also in the BSAVA Library including client handouts and videos.

It is designed to be suitable for referencing, in-depth case planning and team training sessions.

The BSAVA Guide to Nutrition in Small Animal Practice can be purchased online from the BSAVA store.
