Raw pet food company issues third recall
FSA said the products could carry a potential risk to humans as well as pets.

Salmonella found in seven batches of food

A raw pet food company has issued its third recall of products in the past month, this time due to the presence of Salmonella in seven batches of food.

Raw Treat Pet Food Ltd recalled four batches of its frozen pet food on 30 July, after Listeria monocytogenes had been found in the products.

On 13 August, the company issued another recall of nine batches, owing to the presence of Salmonella.

A third recall issued on Friday (30 August) is withdrawing seven batches of frozen raw beef pet food after Salmonella was found in the products.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) said the products could carry a potential risk to humans as well as pets. If any of the affected products have been purchased, FSA advises pet owners not to use them, but to return them from the shop where they were bought.

Extra hygiene precautions should always be followed when handling or serving raw pet food.
