Norbrook Laboratories Ltd issues recall of anaesthetic
product recall
The affected UK brand names are Inductofol (licence no: 02000/4274) and Vetofol (licence no: 02000/4244).
Coring issue reported for Propofol Emulsion for injection
 
Wholesalers and veterinary surgeons are being made aware of a product defect recall for Propofol Emulsion for Injection, which is manufactured by Norbrook Laboratories Ltd.

All batches of Propofol Emulsion for Injection 1.0% w/v that are currently on the market are being recalled, due to an issue of coring.

In a statement, the Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) said: ‘An issue of coring has been reported, where the shearing off of a portion of the 20mm bromobutyl bung occurs as the vial is pierced to withdraw the product. This may result in particles from the bung entering the product and potentially being drawn up into the syringe upon extraction of the product from the vial. It may also result in the bung not resealing fully after use.’

The affected UK brand names are Inductofol (licence no: 02000/4274) and Vetofol (licence no: 02000/4244).

Animal Medicines Amnesty returns this November

 Veterinary practices are being urged to help owners safely dispose of any unused and expired pet medicines - not just antibiotics - during November's Animal Medicines Amnesty.

Organised by the Responsible Use of Medicines Alliance Companion Animal and Equine (RUMA CA&E), the initative is supported by a range of cross-sector organisations.

APHA launches free virtual work experience programme

The Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA), in collaboration with Springpod, has launched a free virtual work experience programme, giving young people across the UK the chance to explore careers dedicated to protecting animal and plant health.

The on-demand programme offers a unique insight into career opportunities within APHA, showcasing how students can contribute to tackling some of the UK's most critical biosecurity and environmental challenges.
