New Practical Pig app launched
Video clips demonstrate herd management

A free Practical Pig app has been launched by BPEX, to provide helpful video clips on herd management and everyday tasks carried out by farmers.

The library of video clips demonstrate practical farm management techniques and cover indoor and outdoor breeding herd production, though new clips will be added regularly.

Angela Cliff, BPEX knowledge transfer manager, explains: "It’s an exciting new tool for the pig industry, using the visual power of videos to demonstrate important everyday tasks – and what’s great is that managers and stockmen can use the app while they’re out and about on farm.

"The clips explain why tasks are done in a certain way and what impact that can have on pig productivity. Attention to detail is essential on every unit to improve pig performance."

The app is available to smartphone and tablet users and videos can also be downloaded onto a PC or laptop from the BPEX website.

For more information, visit the BPEX website.
