Job Vacancy: Referral Coordinator

Stowe Veterinary Group is seeking a Referral Coordinator to join its busy 24-hour veterinary practice group.

We are looking for a highly efficient, personable, and professional team member to join us in delivering exceptional care and communication to our clients, their pets, and the referring veterinary community.

This role would be suitable for an individual with significant experience of working in a veterinary practice. We are looking for applicants with clinical veterinary nursing experience who feel they can bring something valuable to this new role.

Job information:

The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter able to prioritise tasks and work efficiently on several projects at the same time. You should have excellent communication and patient triage skills, with a good understanding of practice workflows and the importance of excellent client and patient care. You will be able to build strong relationships with our partner practices.

You will facilitate all appointments (including initial examinations, rechecks, nurse rechecks and procedures) and provide assistance during the transition of becoming a client/patient to one of our specialists.

You will act as the primary contact for clients who want to arrange an appointment with one of our clinical team as well as answering general questions regarding our services. An understanding of the referral process would be beneficial, as you will also act as the primary contact for referring clinics who wish to transfer a patient to our facility for further care.

Skills and qualifications:

A successful candidate will share our commitment to delivering the highest quality patient care with exceptional client service. You will be expected to bring a positive attitude and maintain a high level of confidence, along with displaying the following attributes:

  • Veterinary clinical and administration experience (preferred)
  • Friendly, professional and approachable, with compassion for pets and people
  • Excellent customer service, communication and listening skills
  • Able to work alone, as well as being a good team player
  • Strong problem solving and decision making skills
  • Efficient, organised, composed, and friendly under pressure
  • Able to work between 8m and 8pm, including occasional nights and weekends
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word and Excel)

Job share possible, if a full-time role does not suit you.

The role will be based at the Ipswich practice but may require ad hoc travel to our partner practices in Bury St Edmunds and Stowmarket therefore the candidate must have a driving license.
