Part-time Veterinary Surgeon - Cardiff

Cardiff Veterinary Centre, one of the very few independent veterinary practices in the heart of the Welsh capital, is looking for a part-time veterinary surgeon.

About the practice
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a state-of-the-art small animal practice that opened at the beginning of 2023.

You’ll be joining a dedicated team of two veterinary surgeons, four registered veterinary nurses, one senior veterinary nurse, one patient care assistant, three receptionists, and a practice manager.

Our first-opinion practice, which comes with top-of-the-range equipment, is a place where you can develop your clinical skills and knowledge. We have three consulting rooms, two theatres, digital x-ray and dental x-ray machines, and fully-equipped IDEXX laboratory machines.

About the role
We are looking for an ambitious and motivated veterinary surgeon with a strong work ethic who can provide a high standard of clinical service. You’ll need to be a strong team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to develop a great rapport with both clients and staff.

Benefits
Salary: £40,000 - £70,000 per annum (depending on experience) pro rata. We also give a minimum of five per cent of our annual profit to be shared equally with all vets as a bonus payment.

Five days paid CPD leave and a generous CPD allowance per annum. We see CPD as an investment in the individual, as well as for the practice, and are keen to support study for certificate qualifications.

Plus:

  • 21 days annual leave and bank holidays
  • Birthday leave
  • RCVS and VDS fees paid
  • Gym membership
  • Discounted treatment for staff pets
  • Free uniform
  • Free car parking on site
  • Yearly pay review
  • UK Standard Pension contributions – 5% Employee / 3% Employer

Personal requirements:

  • Confident in basic small animal surgical and clinical skills
  • Already resident in England or Wales
  • One year working in the UK
  • Two years qualified experience
  • Flexible on working hours and days
